  • Developed, coordinated, and realized all aspects of Artists-In-Residence program. This included working with artists and potential partners to develop individualized residencies, coordinating artists’ schedules, creating budgets, executing service agreements and preparing contracts, as well as acting as a liaison between artists, schools, community organizations and civic leaders.
  • Marketed and promoted Urban Gateways and the Artists-In-Residence program in partnership with other members of the UG staff by maintaining an active role in the local arts, arts education and youth development communities.

PERFORMANCE EXPERIENCE
I have performed all over the United States, New Zealand and Australia at universities, colleges and theatres. In 2004, I was featured on the fourth season of HBO’s Def Poetry Jam and I was voted one of the six most fabulous 20-somethings by the Chicago Tribune’s RedEye Newspaper. In 2006, I was voted one of the 30 under 30 most influential LGBTQ people in Chicago by Windy City Times and took the gold medal in the 2006 Gay Games International LGBT poetry slam. I’ve been an editorial contributor to “848”, a newsmagazine show featured on Chicago Public Radio. I wrote, edited, designed and published my first book, “The Phat Grrrl Diaries” in October, 2008. During my tour of New Zealand, I produced and performed a one-woman show, “The Phat Grrrl Revolution,” at the Dunedin Fringe Festival, which garnered a nomination for Best Standout Performer. I was also featured extensively throughout New Zealand media outlets, including TV3 and No Magazine. In 2010, I released my debut album, “Bedroom Empire”, on my own record label, Phat Grrrl Revolution Records.
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
I am well-versed in both PC and Mac environments, with extensive experience with the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe design products. I’ve designed and currently maintain three websites for my professional presence online. I’ve also designed various products and marketing tools, including flyers, buttons, album covers, t-shirts and full-length books and anthologies, including a full-length anthology of children’s poetry and artwork for the Chicago Park District. I utilize social media on a daily basis and am very comfortable generating newsletters and promotional copy to develop a strong presence online. I currently work with Salesforce to manage consistent communications and track services with artists, schools and community organizations. I also edit both audio and video in applications such as Garageband, iMovie, Final Cut Pro and Avid.
